Client's Problem: how to inspire inhouse creativity and experimentation?
Software: Illustrator, Photoshop, AfterEffecs
‘How might we use our brand to inspire in-house experimentation and playfulness?’ That was the question we got in the brief from Olavstoppen - a Norwegian company that helps businesses improve through design and web development.
Recently they went through a rebranding and have gotten several graphic design assets that they wanted us to animate to inspire their employees to be more creative and daring. We could also go beyond and experiment further.
So how do we achieve this? And how can I create something simple yet meaningful, how do I use storytelling without creating an actual story?
That’s when I decided to research the company to get a feel of its culture. Who they are for their employees? What do they do? Is there anything I could use to create a playful yet relatable animation?
I found out that they have recently moved to a new office space in a beautiful place near the channel. They have lots of after work events in Olavstoppen, including a yearly trip somewhere together. Last year they went to Dubrovnik.
That’s what I decided to work with to create a visual representation of the events Olavstoppen’s employees experience within the company.
I went for the isometric look as it is unusual for their industry, modern, and appealing. Worked with Olavstopen’s brand colors.
Olavstoppen’s graphic element in the middle represents employees, and all other events and activities are placed around them. Playful animation adds character and life to the image.
